“Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you.” – Princess Diana
We’d like to think that we are a brand that is built on kindness – kinda by name and kinda by nature. But maybe that makes us sound a little…smug? We don’t mean it to be – let us explain.
Kindness stocks the shelves of b.kinda HQ. All of those lovely clothes are donated by individuals that have made the kind decision to take them to charity – rather than throwing them away or even selling them online.
Then kindness is shown by the incredible volunteers that help to sort the clothes and send them over to us, ready for our b.kinda pickers to pack.
Then kindness is also behind the decision that is made by YOU – our b.kinda community, each and every time you order your mystery box.
Then there’s more kindness every time you share your box contents online, tagging us and therefore spreading the message far and wide to build our community further.
Kindness is to have good intentions, warmth, compassion and love for someone – or everyone. An act of kindness can fill our hearts with joy and yet in our busy schedules, we sometimes miss out on taking time to acknowledge the need for an act of kindness; a fulfilling and satisfying gesture for a friend, family member, loved one or a stranger.
It’s a fact that kindness not only helps the person in need, but the satisfaction of helping someone leads to the feeling of high self-worth and is good for our own well-being. This, in turn, keeps your blood pressure in check! Kindness is also believed to improve your physical health, where it wards off all the negative energies like anger and hatred. Kindness has also helped many to boost their patience, integrity, and self-acceptance.
So go ahead, and be kind to yourself and others today! It doesn’t need much from you but your positive thinking towards everything and everyone around you!
Ahead of World Kindness Day on November 13th, Brooke Jones, Vice President, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation said: “There are things we do every single day with intention, yet we don’t even think about them. We wake up, take a shower, brush our teeth, get dressed, drive to work or school… all part of our invisible routine. What if we added a moment of kindness to our invisible routine? What if we woke up and as we turn the alarm off, we immediately send an uplifting text message to a friend? Or during the morning commute, what if we let that guy merge into traffic with a wave and a smile instead of feeling upset or slighted?”
She added: “As we celebrate World Kindness Day, I invite you to look for ways to make kindness the norm in your daily life. World Kindness Day is a great day to begin building a new routine which means including intentional moments of kindness, laughter and delight. It also means taking a moment to enjoy and recognise when those things are happening.”
Kindness starts with one. One smile. One compliment. One cup of coffee. One conversation.
Let’s lift the fog and make kindness the norm. #MakeKindnessTheNorm
